Andy Carroll sends six word message after reading movement

Andy Carroll has revealed his joy after signing a short-term deal to join Reading until mid-January.

The 32-year-old has been without a club since leaving the childhood side of Newcastle United in the summer but has now secured his next transfer for the Royals. was announced tonight.

Carroll will provide Veljko Paunovic with much needed cover, with injuries to Yakou Meite and Lucas Joao leaving Berkshire’s outfit short in that department.

Thus, the former England international hopes to make his mark in the coming weeks and he took on Instagram send a message to his new fans, as he simply put it; ‘Let the fun and the games begin‘.

It remains to be seen if the target man is available to make his debut this weekend, with Reading set to face Nottingham Forest at home. Either way, Carroll is on the squad heading into a very busy period as the Royals are set to play nine games from Saturday to January 3.

Paunovic’s men are currently 16th in the championship, although they are only four points from the play-off places.

It’s no surprise to see Carroll excited about this as he would have been frustrated waiting on the sidelines at the start of the new season.

But, his future is now set for the next two months and it will be a relief for him to start training and playing football again.

Sure, he’ll want a longer contract, but that will depend on his performance on the pitch, so it’s now up to Carroll to stay in shape and show what he can do for the Royals.
