Football Field Blocks Schools Taos Retrouvailles | Education

After peeling off the old turf and tearing up the track around it, contractors now say replacing the Taos High School football field will cost more than expected and take at least two weeks longer than expected. The delay has forced school officials to push back this year’s homecoming date – originally scheduled for September 2 – to October 21.

“It was very early this year, probably the earliest ever; so now they’ve moved it to October,” said Taos Municipal Schools District Assistant Superintendent Valerie Trujillo, who is expected to take over as as Acting Superintendent when Superintendent Lillian Torrez retires at the end of August.
