BOONE, North Carolina — App State’s season opener Sept. 3 at home against North Carolina is officially sold out.
Scheduled to kick off at noon on ESPNU, the Tar Heels’ first visit to Kidd Brewer Stadium has proven to be one of the hottest tickets in the country. The ability to purchase single-game tickets did not reach the general public as a result of season ticket sales and buying opportunities from Yosef Club members.
App State students will receive information via email on how to reserve tickets for the game. No guest student tickets will be available, to allow as many App State students as possible to attend the game.
App State announced on Tuesday that football season tickets are sold for the first time in school history after about 11,000 had been sold.
Additional single-match tickets remain available for purchase for Yosef Club members as seating inventory remains, before going on sale to the general public Monday at 9 a.m. at appstatesports.com/tickets. Single match tickets for some other high demand match days may not be available to all groups.
If UNC game tickets become available through various returns or special opportunities, App State Athletics will announce such availability at a later date.
Last season, the Mountaineers won 10 games, captured a Sun Belt East Division title and played in their FBS-record seventh straight bowl game in as many eligible seasons after making the transition from FCS. App State’s record among all FBS teams since transitioning to college football’s top tier is trailed only by Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Georgia.
