Tate Myre had traveled to some schools to potentially play college football. And most recently, we stopped in Tulane for a visit – just days before the shoot.

Shortly after the Tate Myre story was published on the internet, a petition was launched to rename the Oxford High School football stadium in honor of the fallen hero.

So far, the petition has already been signed by more than 70,000 people.

Lateral action trend

Here’s what the petition reads about Tate Myre:

“On Tuesday 11/30, around 1 p.m. there was an active gunman at Oxford High School who killed 3 people and injured many more. One of the students was killed in an attempt to disarm the gunman, this student is Tate Myre, Tate not just a hero to his Oxford high school comrades but a legend, his act of bravery must be remembered and passed down from generation to generation he put his life in danger in trying to help the thousands of other Oxford high school students “

RIP Tate, gone but never forgotten.
