Ongoing petition to rename the football pitch after Oxford’s Tate Myre
Among the three students tragically shot dead in the latest school shooting in Oxford, Mich. Was Tate Myre, a football linebacker who was recruited from some of the area’s teams.
According to reports, Myre jumped into action when he heard there was an active shooter in his high school, sacrificing his life for his fellow students.
It is with great sadness that one of the victims of today’s tragic event at OHS was one of us, Tate Myre. Tate had been in college since his freshman year and was an honorary student. Tate was a tall young man with a bright future and loved by all. We will miss you, Tate pic.twitter.com/AKJCH1UWBG

Tate Myre had traveled to some schools to potentially play college football. And most recently, we stopped in Tulane for a visit – just days before the shoot.
