The 2022 UTSA Roadrunners football game at the FIU Panthers has been moved to Friday, the two schools have announcement.
The UTSA-FIU Conference USA match, originally scheduled for Saturday, October 15, will now be played on Friday, October 14 at Riccardo Silva Stadium in Miami, Florida. The match was moved to Friday to accommodate a nationally televised broadcast.
The week before their game, UTSA is set to host the WKU Hilltoppers, while FIU is set to host the UConn Huskies, both on Saturday, October 8.
UTSA and CRF first met on the gridiron in 2014 and have faced each other a total of three times. The Roadrunners beat the Panthers in their first meeting of 2014 in San Antonio, Texas, 16-13. FIU then picked up back-to-back wins in 2017 at Miami, 14-7, and 2018 at San Antonio, 45-7.
UTSA is set to open its 2022 schedule on Saturday, September 3 at home at the Alamodome in San Antonio against the Houston Cougars. The FIU is set to open its season two days before Thursday, Sept. 1 at home at Miami’s Riccardo Silva Stadium against the Bryant Bulldogs.
