VINCENT — The local Warren School Board met briefly to discuss staffing recommendations on Friday afternoon.

“There’s been some movement internally and we’re done, except for a few new things in terms of teachers, but we should be good to go,” said Superintendent Kyle Newton.

He said that since Friday they are good with teachers. For other positions, they may have to look for long-serving replacements.

The positions that are changing this upcoming school year are:

¯ Resignation — Alisa Kelley, sixth-grade math teacher.

¯ Retirement — Marsha Fuchs, second-grade teacher.

¯ Transfers – Abby Cole, from Grade 1 teacher to Grade 2 teacher; Derrick Fox, from seventh/eighth grade math teacher to high school science teacher.

¯ Employ — Josie Fivecoait, Elementary Intervention Specialist; Abigael Huffman, first grade teacher; Brianne Schaad, fifth/sixth grade math teacher; and Elizabeth Vincent, seventh/eighth grade math teacher.

¯ Classified Substitute — Jeffrey Thomas.

The possibility of another local school using Warren’s football field this fall was also mentioned.

Schools in the town of Belpre were in talks to use the land in Warren, but it is no longer needed, Belpre Schools Athletic Director Haley Bonar said.

“We were going to play Warren, but our track program got postponed,” she says. “We will be able to play all home games at Belpre.”

The next regular school council meeting will be at 6:00 p.m. on July 25 at the secondary school. The Operations Committee meeting will start at 5:00 p.m.
